We've been friends since we began our Midwifery Education at McMaster University in 1994.  Sandy practiced as a Registered Midwife from 1997-2021 and Tamara is still a practicing midwife.  We both hold a mutual vision - to help women feel well-informed, empowered and a sense of confidence and peace during pregnancy birth and beyond.  So, we collaborated to create Birth Unafraid which is more than your average prenatal program!

Our education & experience allow us to be able to provide expertise in all aspects of pregnancy, labour, birth & beyond. We have a combined 25 years of experience as midwives, we've attended over 2000 births combined & have both taught at McMaster University! The wealth of knowledge, skill & passion we developed over our 25-years in the midwifery profession is now accessible to the masses through our amazing Practical Pregnancy™ database database and Birth Unafraid™ course.
